10 Self / 10 World Questions: Questions as starting points for writing and researching in an online environment
  • Write 10 questions that you have about self and 10 questions that you have about the world.
  • compose them in Google docs, edit there, and then we will add them to youthvoices.net later as a discussion post with tags

    Week 2: Check into our 1st online accounts, create a profile

    Check your accounts to make sure that you can login and use your accounts.

    • Continue adding items to your profile
    • Add your extended auto-biography which is 3 paragraphs
    • check our TYWLS of Astoria group to see if assignments are listed
    • do a search for one or more of your interests, see what comes up,
    • read what others are saying on that topic
    • explore youthvoices.net on your own, see what you can find out

    • All users should join their school group from the Groups Directory.
    • When students or teachers post on the site, they should choose their school group and any other appropriate groups, and make it public (unless part of a private group) before they post. (Note: Hold the Control key [PC] or the Apple key [Mac] to choose more than one group.
    • enter at 5-10 (or more) things you are good at and interests
    • list at least 3 favorite books

    What is a biography? What kinds of things should you include? Remember, do not put any specific personal information up, just generally introduce yourself so that others in the network know where you're coming from.

    • Check into your TYWLS account from this link:

    • your user name is your first name and last initial, no caps no spaces
      your password is your nine digit code(unless TYWLS doesn't have your records on file, then ask Renee what it is)

    • Find out what Youthvoices.net is
    • Sign up for your new YouthVoices.net account here:
      http://youthvoices.net/home
    • from the Connect section choose "to join"
    • your username here is-
      your first name and last initial, or whatever your TYWLS account name is
      your password is your nine digit code
    • you must enter your first name, request to join the TYWLS school group, and click the button at the bottom of the page that says "create my account"
